To the Director & Coordinator:
As a veteran in creating memorable SSC programs (and as a member of the SSC speaker-family), I'll work closely with you to create a special seminar for your members. I want your members to associate with your club the high-content information and creative presentation approach they will experience in my programs.

2010 COORDINATORS CONFERENCE - SEATTLE, WA
I love this meeting!  I love seeing and spending time with friends and clients.  After speaking all day in Tacoma for the Pierce County Dental Society, I was able to move to Seattle to attend the Saturday functions and festivities.  The energy level was so high and the synergy among coordinators was exciting.  I enjoyed seeing how these creative individuals work to strengthen their clubs.  It was great to be part of this!

2010  SYMPOSIUM - SCOTTSDALE, AZ

It was a terrific meeting as expected.  I don't know how the SSC team manages to exceed themselves each year.  Clinical and on-clinical programming was top notch and the musical artists were over the top!

Many of the participants left Scottsdale to return to cold climates, made all the more challenging due to snowstorms in the east.  I managed to get back to Raleigh before the airport was shut down!  I hope that other SSC travellers were not waylaid in their journeys home!

2009 DIRECTORS SUMMIT - BELLEVUE, WA

The Interdisciplinary Journey continued at the Directors Summit.  I continued the investigation of what it takes to help members move toward Interdisciplinary dentistry.  In this 2-hr session I addressed the challenges that general dentists and specialists have in embracing ID and the steps it takes to move along the upward path (see the model here).  The presentation included extensive discussion of the challenges and the benefits to all concerned.  What a lively goup and what a scintillating discussion we had!

On conclusion, it was clear that the "slippery slope" of phase 5-6 was the greatest challenge and required very strong relationships among club members to encourage and maintain forward movement.
